These acids gradually dissolve the weakest and thinnest points of the tooth enamel and reach the tooth dentin, which is a sensitive tissue... Decay is mentioned, such as: microbes, sugary substances, acids, dental plaques, the type and shape of the teeth, the quantity and quality of saliva and the types of food consumed.. But in general, it can be said that four main factors play an effective role in causing tooth decay: 1- Microbial plaque and microbial activity of plaque on the surface of the tooth.... 2- Sugary substances in food that are accessible to microbial plaque.... 3- Sensitivity of tooth surfaces and their weakness against acid.... 4- Individual resistance and sufficient time to cause decay.... It is obvious that removing each of the above four factors will reduce decay. and the mouthwashes prescribed by the doctor.... 3- Reducing and controlling sugary substances in the diet.... 4- Not using tobacco.... 5- The use of fluoride with different methods and with the doctor's order prevents its progress. In short; Oral and dental hygiene refers to a set of measures that minimize oral and dental diseases, so we must make it a habit to observe oral and dental hygiene for ourselves and those around us in order to minimize the possibility of tooth decay, gum disease, and dental pulp involvement.
